Graduate Assistant - Athletic Compliance

Description of Position

Northwest Nazarene University Northwest Nazarene University is accepting applications for the position of Athletic Compliance Graduate Assistant to begin in Summer 2025. This is a part-time, year-around, temporary position that reports to the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Services.

Essential Functions

• Assists with the monitoring of NCAA academic, amateurism, eligibility, financial aid, countable athletic activity, recruiting, and camps and clinics rules.
• Utilizes NCAA Compliance Assistant and compliance software for documentation
• Provides education and interpretation of NCAA rules, policies and regulations for students, coaches, and athletic staff
• Assists with reporting of information required by the NCAA and GNAC
• Assists with the preparation of NCAA eligibility lists, national letters of intent, financial aid agreements, and waivers

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Acceptance into NNU’s Graduate School
• High motivation and commitment to the University, organizational skills, the ability to self-start, be calm under pressure, meet deadlines, work without direct supervision, multi-task, problem solve, and relate to a variety of personalities under diverse circumstances
• The University requires that all staff members be Christians and must be comfortable with and in agreement with the mission and lifestyle values of NNU and be willing to help advance the spiritual goals of the University

Compensation

Full-time graduate school tuition and $3,000 per year stipend. A two-year commitment is preferred, renewed after one year based on satisfactory academic and work-related performance
