Position Summary

The Football Graduate Assistant is a part-time position which reports to the Head Football Coach and is responsible to assist in all phases of the University’s football program.

Bryant University is a

NCAA

Division I program, sponsoring 25 varsity sports, and is a member of the America East and Coastal Athletic Association (

CAA

).

Principal Accountabilities

1. Effectively assisting in coaching specific positions in a competitive football program in a manner, which promotes sportsmanship among athletes, ensuring compliance with all

NCAA

conference, Coastal Athletic Association, and institutional rules and regulations;

1. Effectively assisting in recruiting qualified student athletes to participate in the men’s athletic program, and effectively promoting Bryant University academic and athletic programs to potential students;

2. Ensuring that players associated with the football program are eligible under

NCAA

and

CAA

regulations;

1. Assisting the Head Coach in developing and implementing clinic(s), and summer camp(s), Effectively monitoring student athlete academic progress; referring or counseling where appropriate, and motivating the athlete;

3. Establishing and maintaining good personal relationships with student athletes, parents, staff, guidance counselors, and the Community;

4. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

This position is best filled by an individual with an undergraduate degree. Excellent oral and written communication skills; experience motivating and supervising athletes and students, and a thorough understanding of and experience with

NCAA

and

CAA

rules and regulations are a plus.

The ability to manage multiple tasks is essential. Knowledge of related computer applications is important to oversee equipment inventory and manage facilities and events. A valid driver’s license is required for travel. This position is subject to the completion of a criminal background check and division of motor vehicles check.

This position will begin on or around August 1, 2024, with an anticipated duration of two years. Graduate Assistant (GA) compensation includes a full tuition waiver, a $1,500.00 stipend per semester starting August 1, and the opportunity for on-campus housing, if availability permits. Graduate School is a 2-year part-time program beginning August 2024 through August 2026. Acceptance into Bryant University Graduate School program is a condition of employment. Acceptance must be received before candidate will be considered. |
