The Graduate Assistant for Athletics Communications at King University plays a key role in promoting the university’s NCAA Division II athletic programs. This position supports gameday operations, statistical coverage, digital media production, and written content creation. The GA will assist with managing social media, maintaining accurate statistics for sports sponsored by King University, and producing multimedia content that enhances the visibility of Tornado Athletics. This role offers hands-on experience for individuals pursuing careers in athletics communications, media relations, or sports administration.
Minimum Qualifications: • Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. • Be admitted to a King University graduate program. • Maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout the assistantship. • Demonstrate strong written, verbal, and organizational skills. • Be proficient with social media platforms and digital communication tools. • Be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in accordance with athletic event schedules. Expected Date of Employment: 8/1/2026 to 5/31/2027 Expected Schedule of Employment Monday through Sunday
Responsibilities: • Promote and provide coverage for King University’s NCAA Division II athletic programs. • Write game recaps, feature stories, press releases, and other athletics-related content. • Stat and score home athletic contests for sports sponsored by King University (basketball, volleyball, soccer, wrestling, baseball, softball, tennis, etc.). • Compile, manage, and report accurate statistics in accordance with conference and NCAA standards. • Support social media planning, content creation, and day-to-day engagement. • Assist with game-day operations, including media relations, live event coverage, and setup/breakdown. • Coordinate photography, video, and multimedia content initiatives. • Lift, carry, and transport up to 20 pounds of equipment as needed for game-day and media operations. • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Athletics Communications staff.
