Graduate Assistant
Assist the Sports Information Department with home athletic events and publicizing UM athletic events through print, video, and social media. This position starts when classes begin in August, 2024.
Contribute original text, photo, and video content for website and social media platforms (e.g., departmental Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Website).
Work in an official capacity at home athletic events (e.g., operating scoreboards, compiling statistics, public address).
Film and edit highlight clips and interviews with coaches and student-athletes to provide video content for website and social media.
Write press releases featuring game recaps, individual awards and recognition, and student-athlete profiles.
Create infographics highlighting story lines and statistics from athletic events.
Interview recent athletic alumni and contribute text, photo, and video content for website and social media.
Suggest social media postings from home athletic events.
Review social media postings concerning athletics and suggest the possibility of sharing content.
Monitor and update the Sports Information Department’s social media accounts.
Develop new ideas and research best practices for public relations and social media initiatives useful to Sports Information.
Assist with the planning of special events in the Athletic Department.
Update the athletic alumni database.
