Description

Position Summary:

The Men’s Lacrosse Graduate Assistant will assist the coaching staff with all aspects of the lacrosse program, including coaching, game planning, practice organization, player development, recruiting, and administrative support. This position is designed to provide valuable experience for individuals pursuing a career in collegiate lacrosse coaching.

Primary Responsibilities:

Coaching & Player Development:

• Assist with the instruction and development of North Greenville University Men’s Lacrosse players.
• Support the staff in game planning, opponent breakdowns, and weekly scouting reports.
• Help run individual drills, scout team organization, and positional meetings.
• Evaluate practice and game film, contributing to weekly performance reviews.

Recruiting Support:

• Attend in-person recruiting showcases and events.
• Contact (email, phone calls, text messages) recruits on a daily basis.

• Coordinate on-campus visits with prospective student-athletes.

Practice & Game Day Operations:

• Assist with practice setup, breakdown, and script execution.
• Coach and educate in practice and gamesÂ

Physical Requirements:

• Mobility – Ability to demonstrate lacrosse techniques, run drills, and be physically active on the field for extended periods (up to 2+ hours). Must be able to lift, carry, and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Hearing – Ability to hear and respond to player communication, and coach-to-coach conversations in loud environments (practice fields, weight room, game day).
• Vision – Sufficient vision to drive, operate film and video systems, and evaluate film of our team and film of prospective student-athletes.
• Communication – Ability to clearly communicate instructions and feedback to players and staff.

Working Relationships – This position reports to the Men’s Head Lacrosse Coach

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; admission to a North Greenville University graduate program is required for employment.
• Playing or coaching experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with a growth-oriented mindset.
• Familiarity with HUDL, Microsoft Excel, TeamWorks and JustPlay.
• Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
• Must support and live out NGU’s mission and core values.
• Affirm understanding of the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
• Affirm understanding of the University’s Statement on Human Flourishing.
• Agree to abide by all university employee handbooks and community standards agreements.
