Graduate Assistant - Media Relations

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a Christian who is a member of a church that holds Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Lord, and who holds solely the Old Testament and the New Testament as sacred Scriptures.

General Objectives

• The Graduate Assistant – Media Relations will be responsible for all aspects of covering DBU Athletics for the program’s athletic website (dbupatriots.com) and social media in accordance with NCAA, conference, and University rules and regulations. The goal and objective of DBU Athletics is to develop Champions for Christ, both on and off the playing surface. The four pillars of the DBU Department of Athletics include academic excellence, athletic success, community engagement, and spiritual development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution is preferred. Can also be working towards the completion of a Bachelor’s degree.
• Knowledge and experience with editing programs (Final Cut, Adobe Premier, etc) is required.
• Experience in producing and editing motion graphics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage of DBU’s NCAA teams through the writing of game previews, game stories, and statistics.
• Write feature stories highlighting the performances of DBU student-athletes and coaches.
• Manage team’s social media during game with live updates including highlight clips and updates.
• Perform job duties in accordance with DBU’s vision, mission, and values, and in a way that contributes to the advancement of the Athletics Department.
