Job Summary:  

Responsible for managing specifically designated areas of the administrative operations of the men’s basketball program.  Oversees strength and condition program by evaluating the needs of student-athletes and determining and developing individual programs, and formulates, implements, and evaluates operations of the program.   Provides technical expertise in the fundamentals of the sport, instructs student-athletes in the basics as well as advanced strategies, and assists the Head Coach in management of the team through recruiting, fund-raising, and promotional activities.

  • Manages specific areas of the daily administrative operations of the women’s basketball team as assigned by the head coach. Protects the integrity of the sport and the reputation of the intercollegiate athletics programs of the university by complying with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations as well as applicable conference rules and university policies regarding recruiting activities, student-athlete eligibility determination, scholarships and financial aid programs, scheduled practice sessions, and related covered activities.
  • Daily practice planning, provides consultation and expert advice to head coach, assists in conducting practices, and conducts individual practice sessions.
  • Assists with recruiting activities regionally and nationally in addition to recommending the selection of team members.
  • Promotes a positive image of the women’s basketball program, the intercollegiate athletics program, and the university through participation in community and professional organizations, representing the university at professional and community meetings as required, and maintaining credible relations with various news media.
  • Coordinates fundraising activities for the women’s basketball program as assigned by head coach. Supports established athletic fundraising goals by actively participating in fundraising events and promotional activities for intercollegiate athletics.
  • Assists and coordinates summer camps and provides instruction to participants.
