Men’s Basketball Graduate Assistants are an extension of the coaching staff and are expected to represent the University in a proper manner.The primary purpose of this role is to develop comprehensive recruiting databases that aid in the overall success of the Men's Basketball program, analyze current NIL trends throughout the country and better understand it's everchanging landscape, and create detailed reports that assist coaching staff in player development of our current student athletes through deep analytical study. In addition to these responsibilities, they have a vital role in the success of our student athletes and program as a whole.Job responsibilities include:

  • Manage transfer portal database and numerically track value of each transfer based on previous success
  • Provide on going data to the coaching staff throughout the year that tracks the success of current Minnesota student athletes as well as comparable programs around the country
  • Search for current industry trends as it pertains success and transfer opportunities

  • Provide detailed reports of upcoming opponents based on advanced analytics of industry standard databases i.e Kenpom, HDI, Synergy, etc.
  • Develop analytical breakdowns of upcoming opponents and provide this data in a timely manner to head coach, assistant coaches, and video operations staff
  • Create detailed analytical evaluations of current Minnesota student athletes and develop strategies in conjunction with the coaching staff to better develop the skill of each student athlete
