Job Summary:

Assist the department with a variety of duties. A Graduate Assistant will gain essential work and educational experience needed to obtain full-time employment in their chosen field. These tasks are to be performed in a manner that professionally, cordially, and efficiently assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Description of Job Duties:

• Assist the Sports Information Director in the day-to-day coverage of all 12 intercollegiate sports at SWOSU
• Serve as the media contact for selected sports and being responsible for statistical operations, record keeping, and press releases for selected athletic programs and assistance with game day operations for all SWOSUteams
• Assist in the publicity and marketing efforts for the SWOSUAthletic department via SWOSUAthletics.com and social media accounts

Terms of Employment:

• Employment at will
• Part-time, temporary
• Reports to Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations
• Safety and job-related trainings will be completed as instructed
• Eligible to receive a tuition waiver and stipend each semester
• A Graduate Assistant should be working at a level higher than an undergraduate student employee. For example: teaching/instructing on or off the field as assigned, critiquing/grading work/skills, etc.

Education and Experience

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree completed
• Admission to Graduate Study degree program at SWOSU
• Working in field of study
