Under the supervision of the Director of Strength and Performance, this position will develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive athletic development programs for assigned teams. Athletic development programs will be expected to be developed through collaboration with the strength and performance staff, the sports medicine staff, physical therapy staff, and respective sport coaches. The successful candidate will also assist the strength and performance staff with the training of other varsity athletic teams. Candidate will provide effective communication and motivational skills; as well as leadership through conduct, attitude, and professionalism. Represent the University to students, external groups, faculty, and staff in a way that reflects positively on the University.
This position requires the ability to work early mornings, evenings, occasional weekends, and occasional holidays as dictated bycompetition schedules.
Other duties include but are not limited to participating in a semester-long professional development curriculum, engaging in weekly staff meetings; assisting in the up keep, maintenance, and operation of the Performance Centers and attached fueling stations.
Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field.
Completion of at least one internship in the performance field.
Must be accepted into the
UNO
College of Graduate Studies by start date.
Must have
CSCS
or
SCCC
exam scheduled.
Must be
CPR
/
AED
certified.
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the
NSCA
Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified through the CSCCa.
