Job Title

Graduate Assistant (Women's Basketball)

Nature of Work

Graduate Assistants are hired at Wayne State College to assist in meeting the vision and goals established for WSC. Strategic deployment of graduate assistant positions is essential to ensure that limited resources are utilized in a manner consistent with the philosophy of WSC. Graduate assistants provide experiential learning in select areas and to assist the individual in a successful transition to future educational and professional opportunities.

Examples of Work Performed

  • WSC is a NCAA Division II institution that supports 13 varsity sports. Responsibilities include assisting the head coach in all areas including but not limited to: coaching, individual workouts, weight training, administrative duties, recruiting qualified student-athletes, supervising academic progress, game scouting and preparations, and film breakdown.
  • This position will report directly to the Head Coach and is expected to adhere to NCAA and NSIC regulations as well as the policies and procedures set forth by the WSC Athletic Department.
  • All staff members are expected to model a high level of character, self-discipline, and integrity which is associated with all members of the Women’s Basketball program.
