Description: • Mentor and guide specific sub-groups of student-athletes, fostering growth and development both athletically and personally. • Assist in training session planning, course strategy, and performance analysis to enhance team and individual results. • Play an active role in the program’s recruiting efforts, including outreach, communication, and coordinating visits for prospective student-athletes. • Support athlete retention initiatives to ensure a positive, encouraging team environment. • Manage select day-to-day operations of the cycling program, contributing to its overall success.
Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree • Knowledge of competitive cycling rules, techniques, and strategies. • Experience in competitive cycling at the collegiate or elite level. • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: • Coaching or leadership experience preferred.
Responsibilities: • Assist in all areas of team performance, including pre-season, in-season, and post-season training, competition, and recovery. • Design and implement training drills or skill development programs in a specific area of cycling (e.g., sprinting, climbing, endurance). • Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and provide encouragement, support, and referral assistance as needed. • Help coordinate travel arrangements, race-day logistics, and equipment management. • Assist with rider evaluation, qualification, and recruitment. • Support fundraising initiatives to help meet the annual operating budget. • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Cycling Coach. • Comply with NCAA/USA Cycling rules and regulations and uphold the program’s mission and values. • Represent King University at races, training events, and in community outreach. • Maintain appropriate relationships and communicate professionally with alumni, donors, sponsors, team members, and staff. • Maintain/attain CPR/AED certification. • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance coaching and leadership skills.

Hours: 20 hours a week
