The Opportunity:
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Athletics (Marketing and Fan Experience), as the Graphic Designer, you will work with the athletics department staff as an innovative creator responsible for conceptualizing, developing, designing, and preparing original, creative graphic design, including page layouts, production and management of brand/campaign assets, photo-manipulation and typography for various promotional materials to support the department’s key goals and initiatives. Mentoring opportunities are available within this role including creative and technical assistance and coaching student design interns and volunteer student staff. You will work closely with the Associate Director of Athletics (Design, Branding and Special Projects) to ensure all work aligns with conference, NCAA, and compliance requirements to generate innovative design content, which is consistent, yet representative of ‘the brand’ (involving established brand standards and seasonal campaign guidelines).
Additional Information:
This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime- eligible.
Monthly Salary: $3,752 to $5,011 | Range 42 | Steps A - M. Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. Step M is typically a longevity step.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
Two (2) years of college-level training in graphic arts, illustration, drafting or closely allied field AND one (1) year of experience as a Graphics Assistant, OR equivalent education/experience.
Proficiency in design software including, but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Aftereffects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in design and development of promotional materials.
Ability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends.
Experience working with NCAA, conference, university and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Knowledge of sports and intercollegiate athletics.
Work experience that demonstrates the ability to organize, prioritize multiple tasks, work in a fast-paced environment overseeing several projects in tandem in order to meet and/or exceed project deadlines and deliverables.
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal relationship skills including work experience that demonstrates the ability to work professionally and collaboratively with co-workers and constituents.
Work experience that demonstrates the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks, to perform sound decision-making, a positive and proactive attitude and a loyalty toward servitude and professionalism.
