Staff Full Time
The Head Athletic Trainer will develop and implement the total medical care of student-athletes as specified by the South Atlantic Conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association and other governing bodies. The Head Athletic Trainer will monitor athletic training students in a clinical setting.

teaching requirements; *NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer for a minimum of 1 year; *Tennessee State Licensed Athletic Trainer (or eligible); and *Demonstrated teaching success in an Athletic Training Curriculum.

Assist the Athletic Training Program Director in coordinating, supervising, and evaluating implementation of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) standards in the Athletic Training Education program;

Adhere to the Faculty/Staff Policy Manual;

Assist the Athletic Training Program Director in maintaining CAATE accreditation;

Represent the Department and University at professional meetings;

Teach courses in the Athletic Training Program on an as needed basis as assigned by school dean;

Assist the Athletic Training Program Director in developing, implementing, and monitoring a student recruitment and retention plan for athletic training students;

Prepare annual budget proposal that adequately reflects the needs of the athletic program and submitting it to the Director of Athletics by a predetermined deadline;

Maintain compliance with University policies for fiscal management of the Athletic Training budget;

Contribute to recruitment and retention of students;
|

Monitor and evaluate athletic training students in a clinical setting as an Approved Clinical Instructor;

Provide learning opportunities for students in the clinical setting;

Explore career opportunities for students;

Provide effective and safe clinical settings and experiences for athletic training students;

Assist students; in their preparation of the NATABOC exam;

Serve as a good role model for athletic training students;

Schedule and coordinate Athletic Training coverage for all sports;

Communicate with the Athletic Training Staff;

Enforce the rules as detailed by the South Atlantic Conference, the NCAA, and other organizations;

Maintain the equipment within the athletic training facility for the safety of students and student-athletes;

Serve as a liason between the medical community, parents, coaches, student-athletes, and the University community;

Coordinate and schedule the referral of student-athletes to the appropriate health professional;

Keep appropriate documentation regarding the injuries and illnesses of student-athletes until the statute of limitations has passed;

File appropriate incident reports to the Athletic Director for insurance filing purposes;

Coordinate and manage the concerns of the athletic coaching staff on a daily basis;

Supervise graduate assistant athletic trainers;

Supervise and coordinate the clinical responsibilities of the Assistant Athletic Trainers;

Promote and maintain a positive work environment in the clinical setting for students, faculty, student-athletes and coaches;
