The opportunity
Southern New Hampshire University's traditional campus is looking for a Head Athletic Trainer, located in Manchester, NH. The Head Athletic Trainer is responsible for the care and oversight of the health and wellbeing of all 17 varsity teams and nearly 400 student-athletes. You will be the designated Health Administrator for the NCAA and will maintain concussion protocols within NCAA regulations. Additionally, you will also administer and serve as the liaison between athletes, parents, their doctors, our secondary insurance policy, and our medical network. You will oversee coverage for multiple facilities and management of four assistant athletic trainers. You will report to the Director of Athletics and Recreation. #LI-Onsite

What you'll do:
The Head Athletic Trainer will be in direct contact with the athlete, parents and insurance companies to ensure coverage of care
Clear athletes to return to play per SNHU guidelines and best practices and physician recommendations
Administer all concussion protocols including baseline testing of every athlete upon arrival at SNHU. These baseline numbers will help the Trainer react to concussion symptoms and administer the proper level of restraint and protocols before being cleared to return to play
Be the Designated Health Care Administrator for the NCAA which requires reporting and data entry of injuries into several electronic programs for data collection
Be the point person for the NCAA drug free sport process and any drug testing of student athletes. This is a requirement of the NCAA, and its partnership with a Drug Free Sport
What we're looking for:
This position follows an academic calendar and is active for 10 months out of the year, from August 15th to June 15th. The salary range listed in the compensation section below will be prorated based on a 10 month work year. This prorated range is $69,544.92 - $94,103.47

Compensation
The annual pay range for this position is $75,528.00 - $120,865.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $83,457.00 - $112,912.00.
