Job Summary
Recreation Services at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Head Athletic Trainer position! This is a 10-month appointment, engaged annually from August 1st to May 31st with Jun and July off.
This role is responsible for the overall direction and management of the Recreation Injury Care Center (RICC) to provide first aid, injury prevention, injury evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, assessment and referrals as well as the collaboration with CU Sports Medicine and Medical Services to align resources and better serve students. The Head Athletic Trainer will directly supervise the Assistant Athletic Trainer, student staff and interns, and will assist the Senior Assistant Director of Facility Operations and Risk Management with risk management initiatives for the department and overall program advancement. This role also manages the purchase, maintenance and inventory of first aid and safety equipment and supplies, the documentation of all accident reports and SOAP notes, and will assist the administration with the compliance of OSHA standards and other pertinent topic areas related to public health. Must be available for occasional Sport Club travel as team needs and budget allows. It is necessary for this position to be available for a variable work schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours depending upon needs of the Recreation Center.
