About American International College:

American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on an 88+ acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campus has 42 buildings on two sites approximately 1/2 mile apart with a total of approximately 888,000 gross square feet. Job Description:

American International College (AIC) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Athletic Trainer to lead and transform our athletic training program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for revitalizing and developing the athletic training room, ensuring the highest standards of care for our student-athletes, fostering a culture of health, safety, and excellence within the athletics department, and promoting a positive work-life balance for all staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the athletic training room, including the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries.
• Supervise and mentor assistant athletic trainers, interns, and student workers.
• Collaborate with coaches, strength and conditioning staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to design and execute comprehensive injury prevention programs.
• Ensure compliance with all NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations regarding athlete health and safety.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for all student-athletes.
• Provide education and training to student-athletes on injury prevention, nutrition, and overall wellness.
• Manage the budget for the athletic training department, including procurement of supplies and equipment.
• Foster a supportive work environment that promotes a healthy work-life balance for all staff.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the athletic training facilities and equipment.
• Stay current with advancements in sports medicine and integrate new techniques and technologies into the program.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Required Degree(s): Bachelor's degree in athletic training or related discipline. Three to five years of athletic training experience.
• Required Training/Cert: Massachusetts Athletic Training License or ability to obtain one within two months of hire. NATA board certification. Adult CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required.
• Required Licensure(s): Valid and insurable driver's license by date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in related discipline.
• Three to five years of athletic training experience at the collegiate level.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Ability to work with a diverse group of student-athletes, staff, and constituents; and the ability to work under pressure, make decisions, and meet deadlines

• Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work with students, coaches, administrators and health care professionals in a broad range of situations
• Experience working with electronic health care records
• Availability to work nights and weekends.

Additional Information:

Work Schedule

• This is a full-time exempt, benefits level position, not limited to 35 hours per week. The schedule will be flexible to the needs of the department with regular office hours to include 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Evenings, weekends, and holidays required as the schedule dictates.
