This position is responsible for managing all aspects of a competitive Division I Men's and Women's Cross Country program including, but not limited to, coaching, recruiting, and program administration.

Essential Job Duties

• Coach and administer the Men's and Women's Cross Country programs;
• Recruit athletically- and academically-qualified Division I student athletes;
• Organize, schedule, and conduct practices and competitions;
• Encourage a commitment to academic excellence;
• Manage a budget and fundraise for the program;
• Ensure program compliance with all college, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations;
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree is required;
• Master’s degree is preferred;
• Previous collegiate running and/or coaching experience is required;
• Strong, working knowledge of the sport’s skills and training methods is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills;
• Working knowledge of computer (PC) applications;
• Ability to identify and recruit outstanding student-athletes to the college;
• Effective public relations and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues;
• Organizational skills;
• Audio/visual skills;
• Knowledge of NCAA, ASUN, and university rules, regulations, and compliance.
