Description: King University is accepting applications for the position of Head Esports Coach. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the Esports program, including student-athlete recruitment and development, team training and competition, program promotion, and administrative oversight. This position offers the opportunity to build a competitive and mission-centered Esports program that contributes to the academic and personal growth of student-athletes.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Competitive or coaching experience in Esports at the collegiate, club, or professional level. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to recruit, train, and mentor student-athletes. Commitment to the mission and values of King University.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field. Previous head coaching or program-building experience. Knowledge of multiple Esports titles and current competitive trends. Experience with streaming, broadcasting, and Esports facility/equipment management. Background in student development, advising, or mentoring.
Responsibilities: Supervise all activities related to student-athletes and ensure a positive and professional team environment. Provide academic, personal, and professional mentoring to student-athletes. Recruit student-athletes who meet King University admission guidelines in order to achieve roster goals and build a competitive team. Establish and manage the team’s competition and practice schedules. Lead training sessions, scrimmages, and competitive events. Manage program operations including equipment, technology, facilities, budget, and compliance. Collaborate with Admissions, Marketing, and Athletics to promote King University and attract prospective students. Represent the Esports program to the campus community, alumni, and external audiences. Comply with all NCAA, NACE, and Conference Carolinas rules and regulations. Foster an inclusive, positive, and professional team culture consistent with the Christian mission of King University.
