Under administrative direction, the Head Coach is responsible for the development, oversight, and management of all aspects of the competitive National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving programs. The Head Coach leads the following efforts for the Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving programs: recruitment of qualified student-athletes with a commitment to academic success; compliance with NCAA, Atlantic 10, and university rules and regulations; budget management; fundraising activities; community development; and organizing and directing camps and clinics. Administers the swimming and diving programs for the athletics department; coaches at all scheduled meets; organizes and conducts all practice sessions; provides one-on-one instruction; oversees student team members’ athletic and academic development.
Job Responsibilities
● Coordinates the daily organization and overall administration of the men’s and women’s swimming and diving program
● Schedules and conducts all practices and home meets
● Responsible for NCAA compliance
● Monitors budget and finances for the swim program
● Organizes and conducts all practice sessions; provides one-on-one instruction; oversees student team members’ athletic and academic development
● Responsible for recruitment of men’s and women’s swimmers
● Performs other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
● Prior head coaching experience required
● Proven ability to work independently, prioritize, and complete tasks in a timely manner
● Excellent communication skills required for working with diverse groups

Minimum Qualifications –An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)
Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with five (5) years of related experience; previous collegiate coaching and recruiting experience required; ability to work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends.
