Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech), a proud member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and the prestigious Sunshine State Conference (SSC), is sponsoring 15 intercollegiate men’s and women’s sports and seven club sports.

Florida Tech athletics develops athletes into scholars, champions, and leaders prepared to become global influencers in their relentless pursuit of greatness.

The Head Coach is responsible for providing vision, leadership, and strategic planning in directing and supervising all activities related to recruiting, teaching, training, and skill development of scholar-athletes in preparation for intercollegiate competitions.

The Head Coach will establish positive, mutually respectful, and effective working relationships with scholar-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty, alums, and the public. The Head Coach is responsible for developing a program that supports the University’s Athletics mission.

In meeting the University’s tradition of ethical conduct at all levels of university life, the Head Coach is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to represent the University in an honorable and ethical manner, complying with all athletic, NCAA, SSC, Florida Institute of Technology, and established Federal Government policies and protocols, including the use of all athletic and University software and technology systems, documentation, travel arrangements, equipment/supplies maintenance, orders, and community service.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for providing a positive scholar-athlete experience centered on their physical and mental health in the organization, implementing, oversight, and present at all regular practice sessions and competitions in developing, instructing, and motivating scholar-athletes in fundamentals, techniques, and strategies to achieve a high-level performance individually and as a team.

  • Lead the evaluation and recruitment of athletically talented and academically qualified scholar-athletes, supporting the University’s mission and philosophy in monitoring, overseeing, and supporting academic success. Comply with the academic policies established by the University and the NCAA and maintain an environment where higher education is prioritized, as reflected by class attendance, grade point averages, the NCAA Academic Success Rate (ASR), and federal graduation rates.

  • Develop, implement, and oversee the sports operating budget provided by the university. Develop fundraising activities and events to supplement the budget needs of the program, including cooperating fully with the University in promoting the Program, the University’s Athletics Advancement fundraising, the University, the University’s Alumni Association, and other University-affiliated organizations.  Such cooperation includes, but is not limited to, (a) attendance and participation at meetings, events, and media outlets of the University and University-affiliated organizations; (b) endorsement of products and performance of promotional services; and (c) personal appearances, in each case as directed by the Director of Athletics.
