Head Coach, STUNT

12-month, full time

Position Summary: The Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of the Westmont STUNT program. In addition to on court coaching activities, this job includes administrative, recruiting and fundraising responsibilities.

Requirements: Master’s degree and 2-5 years of related coaching experience preferred. Requires personal affirmation of the Christian mission of Westmont College and the Community Life Statement and adherence to its behavioral expectations. Must be able to successfully lead and mentor students relative to their Christian faith. Also requires: ability to teach and coach student athletes (team and individual), to inspire and motivate student athletes, ability to foster relations with internal staff and student athletes, and to manage and maintain confidential and private information. Role requires: effective interpersonal, written, and electronic communications skills, including the ability to convey complex information in accessible terms to diverse or multicultural groups, computer proficiency using software and enterprise systems appropriate for the complexities of the role and its functions.

Responsibilities include:

Organizes and conducts practices. Ensures proper strength and conditioning program in collaboration with the Sports Performance Coach. Prepares and manages budget in coordination with the A.D.’s office. This position is directly accountable to the management of the programs operating budget. Orders equipment and supplies by following proper procedure outlined in operations manual. Submits travel requests to Assistant AD for Operations. Plans departure time for a safe and timely arrival. Prepares schedule and submits to AD’s office for approval, with special attention to ensuring that student-athletes miss a minimal amount of class time. Works in collaboration with Associate AD for Compliance to provide all required information on both recruits and rostered players. Provides accurate roster to the Assistant AD for Operations and Associate AD for Communication at the beginning of each season. Recruits student-athletes for STUNT. Recommends amount of athletic scholarship for all players. Keeps records of all financial aid given to comply with Conference limitations and reporting requirements.
