Position Description Summary/Purpose** :**

Recruits, trains and provides guidance to members of the womenâs flag football team in a manner which promotes the academic, athletic and social success of athletes and is consistent with the mission and goals of the University of Bridgeport Athletic Department. Â Â The inaugural season will begin in 2026-2027, with competition beginning in Spring 2027.

Position Description Summary/Purpose** :**

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities** :**

Represent the University of Bridgeport and the Athletic Department in a positive manner with a high degree of integrity and quality.
Promote and support the University of Bridgeport and its mission.
Recruit student-athletes for the 26-27 academic year, and therefore in accordance with NCAA rules and regulations.
Promote Womenâs Flag Football at the University of Bridgeport
Provide leadership in the planning and operation of the program.
Administer within the policies of University of Bridgeport, team conference, and NCAA rules.
Organize and facilitate all daily practice sessions, contest preparation, competition and off-season training.
Adhere to operating, equipment and scholarship budgets as established by the Athletic Department.
Delegate responsibilities to assistant coaches and team members.
Develop and maintain a successful recruiting system while maintaining a high level of visibility.
Assist in promotion and public relations activities for the University of Bridgeport Athletic Department.
Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches.
Schedule contests in accordance with the policies set forth by the University of Bridgeport Athletic Department.
Coordinate travel and meal considerations for away contests.
Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.

Other Functions :Â

Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Ability and Skill** :**

Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering best practices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and build an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity.
Experience in the sport of flag football
Ability to work in a fast-paced, and sometimes outdoor environment
Ability to recruit and promote the university

Minimum Required Qualifications** :**

Education, Training and Experience:

The qualifications required would generally be acquired with Â â¦â¦.

â¦.. or any equivalent combination of education, work experience and training.

Bachelorâs Degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred;
CPR/AED certification;
College participation and/or coaching preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Coaching and /or participation at collegiate level preferred; demonstrated ability and passion to teach and demonstrate skills of flag football:
Ability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends;
Candidate must have a valid driverâs license and meet University of Bridgeportâs Driving Requirements;
Willingness to fundraise;
Ability to interact with all levels of the university community.
