POSITION SUMMARY:

The Head Coach of Women’s Lacrosse is responsible for leading and managing of Westminster University’s NCAA Division II women’s lacrosse program. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Coach is responsible for the recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes, supervision of assistant coaches, coordination of team practices and competitions, budget management, and oversight of travel and equipment needs. The coach ensures full compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA regulations, and plays a key role in supporting the academic and personal development of student-athletes. Westminster University is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA II) and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

• Recruitment and retention of qualified student athletes.
• Supervise and hire assistant(s).
• Budgeting, scheduling, and travel arrangements.
• Organize and supervise practices.
• Event management assistance.
• Order and maintain all equipment.
• Compliance with institutional, conference and national governing regulations.
• Assist with fundraising and outreach efforts for program.
• Student-athlete mentoring and welfare.
• Work closely with other staff to promote intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the University learning environment and support the academic success of student-athletes.
• Perform all responsibilities with the highest ethical standards consistent with the University’s mission, vision and values which include diversity, equity and inclusion
• Perform other duties as assigned

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS -  Schedule outside normal business hours.   This position requires an irregular work schedule including days, nights, weekends and travel. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree, Master’s preferred.
• Demonstrate a record of success in coaching Lacrosse and recruiting student athletes at the collegiate level preferred.
• Ability to work independently.
• Effective motivational skills.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and public relation communication skills.
• Ability to create a positive atmosphere conducive to learning.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with high standards and goals.
• Commitment to high academic and professional standards.

 **   ***POSITION REQUIREMENTS:*

• Periodic overnight travel may be required.
• Regular travel throughout the year and/or at specified times of the year will be required.
• Extended hours, including evenings and weekends will be required.
• Ability to respond to on-call as assigned, including evenings and weekends is required.
• Valid driver’s license and successful DMV check required.
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch required.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds required.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds required.
