JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision the Head Men's and Women's Swimming Coach provides leadership and direction for the men's and women's swim programs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
% of Time
50% Instruct, teach and assist in the development of athletes during practices and contests. Follow and conform to NCAA, MAAC, athletics department and university rules and regulations.
45% Recruit athletes for the following year and make athletics scholarship recommendations.
5% Maintain budget and other administrative duties as assigned. Consistently monitor all employees who report to this position and write a minimum of one performance review annually for each employee.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS
The functions of the position usually performed sitting, but may require some amount of time standing. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying and other movements may be required. Tasks involving working on a computer keyboard, computer software applications, calculator, cutting, labeling, and taping involve extensive wrist and hand movement. All individuals are required to be able to perform these movements without significant risk of injury to themselves or others.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
1) Bachelor's degree in related field is required with a high-level amateur or professional competing and/or coaching experience
At least one year of experience coaching swimming at the high school, college or higher competitive level or at least three years experience competing at the college level or higher.
A valid New York State driver's license is required that satisfies both University and insurance company underwriting rules and regulations for driving a motor vehicle. Must also be able to operate a motor vehicle in Canada.
