FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY (FVSU), a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for the position of Head Men's Basketball Coach.

Fort Valley State University, the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia, is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2,800 students including graduate students. JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Men's Basketball Coach responsibilities include, but are not limited to, organization, direction and administration as well as recruitment and retention of student-athletes.

Fort Valley State University a proud member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and the prestigious Southern Intercollegiate Conference (SIAC), is sponsoring 12 intercollegiate men's and women's sports.

This is a full-time, 12-month position with benefits.

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Responsible for providing vision, leadership, and strategic planning in directing and supervising all activities related to recruiting, teaching, training, and skill development of scholar-athletes in preparation for intercollegiate competitions. Establish positive, mutually respectful, and effective working relationships with scholar-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty, alums, and the public. The Head Coach is responsible for developing a program that supports the University's Athletics mission. Demonstrate a commitment to represent the University in an honorable and ethical manner, complying with all athletic, NCAA, SIAC, Fort Valley State University, and the University System of Georgia policies and protocols, including the use of all athletic and University software and technology systems, documentation, travel arrangements, equipment/supplies maintenance, orders, and community service.
