The Opportunity:

West Liberty University is seeking applications for the Head Softball Coach. The Softball Coach performs a variety of responsible program building tasks including planning, coaching, recruiting, managing, developing, supporting, and fundraising for the Softball Program. 

Education Requirement: 

Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.

Skills/Abilities: 

• Strong verbal communication & listening skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to conceptualize and prioritize objectives as well as exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organization policies and activities.
• Ability to operate effectively with minimal oversight
• Articulate and responsive to colleagues
• Ability to inspire and develop staff
• Ability to proactively approach responsibilities
• Ability to work effectively with staff, faculty, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.

The softball program has a long record of success and support from donors and alumni.  Following the 2023 season, the team was one of 99 within NCAA Division II membership to earn a 3.0 GPA or higher, finishing the year with a GPA of 3.33.
