Position Summary Information

| Responsibilities |
The purpose of this position is to direct and coach the university’s softball program. Success in this position results in the successful provision of programming to university students. The Head Softball Coach will be responsible for the direction and oversight of the softball program and all related functions. These functions include, but are not limited to: coaching, recruiting, practice, game day preparation & management, organization of team travel, alumni communication, fundraising, supervision of staff, managing budget, establishing a strong working relationship with the University, student-athletes, administrators, and surrounding community, following NCAA, Gulf South Conference, and University rules and regulations, developing athletes to achieve success on the court and in the classroom, organizing and managing camps and clinics. Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Must have effective communication, leadership, and organizational skills and foster positive student-athlete, campus, community, alumni, and athletic department relations.

Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred. It is preferred that the qualified candidate have playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level.
