Apply NowProvide leadership, supervision, and administration of the cheerleading program that is consistent with the objectives and mission of the total athletic programs at Chadron State College.
Essential Duties:Head Spirit Coach is responsible for cheerleading and the overall spirit program. Organize and facilitate all daily operations related to the Spirit Team. Attend practices, games, and events where team is performing.Collaborate with Athletics Department, perform and promote at designated events. Organize, choreograph, and teach game day elements and procedures for sporting events to be performed by the team.Evaluate and review the AACCA rules and regulations and determine changes and improvements for the team including safety.Coordinate documentation, filing, and maintenance of athlete records and/or insurance for team members.Collaborate with Foundation and other department to perform and promote at designated events. Organize, choreograph, and teach procedures for events to be performed by the team. Create programming to provide professional development and educational informational documents and trainings for team.Provide youth and community opportunities to interact with team including but not limited to camps, clinics, and community service.Assist with events and committees for Chadron State College Homecoming Events.Effectively manage and control program budget.Develop a sound recruiting philosophy that includes contacts with the area’s student athletes.Maintain inventory for spirit equipment and uniforms. Secondary Duties:Be available to serve on various committees as needed.Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degreeSpirit or cheer coaching experience at any levelWillingness to work varying hours including nights and weekends
Collegiate level spirit or cheer coaching
Successful background records and credit check
Valid driver’s licenseSatisfactory evaluation of driving record
