The Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Baseball is a full-time professional position responsible for design implementation of Baseball strength, speed, and conditioning programs. Primary sport responsibility is Baseball and requires involvement with practices and competitions, including travel to away competitions.
70% Design and implement athletic development programs for Baseball, including but not limited to teaching and motivating student-athletes during all strength training, speed and conditioning activities. Collaborate with medical staff and other support staff to provide safe and appropriate programming.
10% Coordinate athletic development activities associated with practice and competition both home and away.
10%. Coordinate performance testing and data analysis.
5%. Management of daily operations of the Baseball weight room.
5% Assist with and participate in Strength & Conditioning Department activities such as staff meetings, continuing education opportunities, mentorships, and policy trainings; Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department diversity and inclusion initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities as well as participation in the creation of an inclusive culture consistent with the values of LSU and its department; Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with one year of experience in a collegiate, private or professional strength and conditioning environment, performing and teaching weight lifting, running and rehabilitation exercises; CPR/AED certified; Strength and Conditioning certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree; Three years experience in a strength and conditioning program at a Power 5 university; NSCA (CSCS cert) or CSCCa (SCCC or MSCC certs)
Special or Physical Requirements:
Ability and willingness to work extended days, weekends and holidays. Travel is required. Due to the nature of the position and/or position responsibilities, this position shall be subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with University PS-67. Due to the position's physical requirements, a pre-employment physical examination will be required per FASOP: HR-04.
