LIU Long Island is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead its Women’s Acrobatics and Tumbling program as Head Coach. This full-time position,
based on the LIU Post campus, is responsible for the overall direction, leadership, and development of the acrobatics and tumbling program. The ideal candidate will
demonstrate a strong commitment to building a competitive and inclusive team, fostering the academic and athletic success of student-athletes, and upholding the
values and standards of LIU Athletics.
Key Responsibilities:
• Direct all aspects of the women’s acrobatics and tumbling program, including training, meet preparation, and in-season and off-season development.
• Recruit, evaluate, and retain student-athletes who embody the academic and athletic standards of LIU.
• Support student-athlete development on and off the mat, including academic success, leadership, and well-being.
• Ensure program compliance with all NCAA, conference (NCATA), and LIU regulations and policies.
• Oversee management of team operations, including budgeting, travel logistics, scheduling, and equipment needs.
• Hire, supervise, and develop assistant coaches and support staff.
• Coordinate choreography, skill development, and routine construction aligned with NCATA standards.
• Engage with alumni, campus departments, and community partners to promote the program and foster support.
• Cultivate a team culture rooted in accountability, integrity, and mutual respect.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of successful collegiate, club, or high-level coaching experience in acrobatics and tumbling, cheer, gymnastics, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated success in recruiting and developing student-athletes.
• Strong understanding of NCATA rules and competition formats.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
