GENERAL SUMMARY:

Edward Waters University is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a Women’s Basketball Coach in a full-time capacity. Under the general supervision of the Associate Vice President & Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, the coach will provide comprehensive instruction and leadership to the student-athletes and develop a competitive program within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). The coach will be responsible for recruiting student-athletes to participate at the Division II level, managing an operational budget, planning practices, and matches, monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes, and maintaining compliance with all NCAA Division II and SIAC guidelines and regulations. Travel and weekends will be required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Coach student-athletes, which includes training & evaluating their performance in both practice and competition, teaching fundamental techniques, and providing leadership and instruction;
  • Implement a successful recruiting strategy to attract outstanding student-athletes to attend EWU while remaining in full compliance with all NCAA and SIAC rules, as well as departmental and university policies and procedures;
  • Develop and implement all aspects of pre-season, in-season, post-season and off-season conditioning;
  • Process all necessary EWU documents and ensure administrative duties are carried out within deadlines;
