Job Description

The Head Women’s Soccer Coach is responsible for all facets of conducting a successful soccer program at the

NCAA

Division I level. Duties include on the field coaching during practice and competition;

recruiting of quality student-athletes; game preparation; administration of operating budget; supervision of assistants or grad assistant; fundraising; promotional and public relations activities; speaking engagements and media interviews; knowledge of compliance with all

NCAA

, conference and university rules and regulations; direct and coordinate the planning, organizing, and coaching of the Mississippi Valley State University women’s soccer team; provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes at Mississippi Valley State University; study, evaluate and implement innovations in soccer strategy and equipment; demonstrate professional integrity. May perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director as deemed necessary to aid in efficient operations of the department.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree. Successful

NCAA

Division I soccer coaching experience as a head coach or assistant coach with winning programs.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree. Educational background in Kinesiology,

HPER

, and or sports administration. Competitive experience as intercollegiate soccer coach. Successful head or assistant coaching experience at

NCAA

Division I level. Ability to recruit in high schools and junior colleges, primarily in Mississippi and the surrounding States. Demonstrate administrative and public relations abilities. Concern for academic and athletic preparation of student-athletes. Ability to establish good rapport and working relationships with student-athletes, coaching staff, administration, university personnel and the general public. Demonstrate knowledge and the ability to comply with

, conference and university rules and regulations.
