HEAD WOMEN’S WRESTLING COACH

Position: Western Colorado University invites applications for the full-time position of Head Women’s Wrestling Coach. This is a new NCAA program for Western and the inaugural head coach will be building the new program. The position reports to the Director of Athletics, works closely with the Deputy Director of Athletics, the Associate Athletics Director for Business Operations and Assistant Athletic Director for Communications.

Responsibilities:  The Head Women’s Wrestling Coach is responsible for providing leadership, planning, organizing and for administering all aspects of a start-up program for the Women’s Wrestling program. The incumbent will be responsible for fostering and supporting student-athlete welfare, recruiting highly qualified student-athletes, practice scheduling and competitions, coaching athletes in practice and games, maintaining a strong academic environment, supervising coaching staff, maintaining budget, conducting and managing all facets of camps, cultivating alumni/donors/community, direct involvement working with program-specific fundraising as well as participation in Athletic Department fundraising.

Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree required. Three years of prior related experience. Strong communication skills, ability to support significant evening and weekend work. Proven administrative, organizational and recruiting skills. Ability to establish good rapport and relationships with players, administrators, staff, alumni and the general public.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree preferred. Three years collegiate wrestling coaching experience preferred. Knowledge of NCAA Division II Volleyball practices and regulations. NCAA II recruiting certified. CPR certified.

Compensation: $55,000 - 65,000 annual salary range. This position is FLSA exempt. After one year of employment, Western provides free tuition for dependents enrolled full time in undergraduate programs for up to four years.
