Position Summary:

Job Duties:
Develop, organize, direct, advance, and administer a successful Division I Wrestling program.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Devise methods by which the team can achieve success.
Establishment and development of the team and team atmosphere.
Creates a positive atmosphere for the successful recruitment of student-athletes.
Promotion of community involvement by all team personnel.
Lead, direct and develop assistant coaches.
The Head Wrestling serves as an ambassador for the athletics department and the university at large within the community and nationally. He also contributes to the recruitment and retention of a diverse group of student-athletes to including minorities.
Creating an environment of non-compliance with NCAA rules will bring a tremendous amount of negative attention on the program and the university not just locally but nationally as well.
The Head Wrestling Coach will meet with his sport administrator and or the athletics director on a regular basis prior to the start of the season, during the season and at the conclusion of the season to ensure the program is progressing.
The Head Wrestling Coach must communicate with all athletic department staff (coaches, equipment managers, facility director, marketing personnel, sports information personnel, training room staff, strength and conditioning staff, business office personnel, compliance officers, academic success staff, assistant and associate athletic directors, athletic director) on a regular basis, to plan practices, events and certainly game day activities. Also must communicate with other university departments (housing, dining, admissions, financial aid, etc.) for issues concerning Wrestling student athletes.
The Head Wrestling Coach will communicate with a wide range of constituents including but not limited to all athletic department staff, numerous university staff, media members both national and local, alumni, current and future donors, vendors, recruits and their families.
The Head Wrestling Coach will be responsible for the operating budge and the fundraising account for the program.
Minimum Qualifications:
Prefer collegiate Wrestling experience as well as graduate assistant experience at Division 1 school as well as at least 5 years of successful Wrestling coaching at any level.
Required (may obtain and maintain immediately following hire): CPR/First Aid, NCAA Rules and Regulations certification
The head coach represents the University and the program in a positive way at all times.
