Intern Athletic Trainer

We are looking for an Intern Athletic Trainer to provide a valuable service to our student-athletes and deliver the highest quality of health care possible to compete at the Division I level and in the Big East Conference.

The Intern Athletic Trainer collaborates with other members of the Athletic Medicine Staff in the delivery of Athletic Medicine Services to student-athletes. This position will report directly to the Director of Athletic Medicine.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specific clinical care (prevention, first aid, injury assessment, and rehabilitation) of assigned sport(s), including, but not limited to: home and away practice, strength and conditioning sessions, individual workouts, and home and away games.
• Additional responsibilities will include assisting the Director of Athletic Medicine in the supervision of student workers
• Attend practices and games (home and away) of assigned sports - Softball
• This position will also involve administrative assistance and be responsible for home event and post-season coverage of assigned non-contact sport.
• The Intern Athletic Trainer will coordinate and maintain medical referrals and records
• Assist Director of Athletic Medicine in the implementation of all department guidelines, policies and procedures in accordance with national and international best practices and consensus statements to maintain optimal health, safety, and welfare of all constituents.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree in Athletic Training or related field preferred.
• Ability to maintain Athletic Training Certification and Licensure in accordance with the NATA Board of Certification and Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services
• Required Licenses/Certifications
• Must be certified by the National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification, eligible for Nebraska Athletic Trainer License
