What will you be doing?
The Lead Ice Technician will be responsible for the scheduling, training, and oversight of all full-time, part-time, on-call and student ice maintenance staff. You will educate and ensure all ice resurface operators have completed the necessary training and testing prior to solo drives and hold all drivers accountable for proper safe usage. You will plan and orchestrate the installation and removal of both the Olympic and Lefty ice surfaces. Will oversee all staff in maintaining high-quality ice, logos and lines, dashers and glass; ensure that all staff is monitoring air, ice floor, and ice surface temperatures and humidity levels. This role will be responsible for the daily care and proper operation of all ice making and water treatment systems per manufacturers recommendations. Ensure that all on-ice equipment including three ice resurfacers are maintained and that all maintenance is completed as scheduled. Responsible for the care and maintenance of all equipment in Ice Plant including but not limited to the compressors and brine pumps. Work with Service Mechanic to schedule and complete all preventative maintenance and repairs in Ice Plant. Plan, implement and oversee all daily staff duties, communicate and advise the Sr Ice Technician on the second shift of those duties and expectations. Work with Operations Manager, General Manager, and ND Maintenance Zone Supervisor to oversee building maintenance including but not limited to electric, plumbing, painting, doors, window and locks and scheduling preventative maintenance or repairs through the use of the
AIM
system to submit work orders. Collaborate with Aquatics staff to maintain the whirlpool tubs according to the specified standards and regulations.

Competent in mechanical & building maintenance
US Ice Rink Association Certified Ice Technician
Certified Pool Operator
Proficient in computer usage, software, and systems
1-2 years of leadership experience
