Apply NowThe Maintenance Floater position responsible for performing maintenance, upkeep and cleaning of assigned KA facilities, and all spaces operated by Kansas Athletics. This position is also responsible for set up and tear down for practices and events, event cleanup and maintenance as directed by the specific facility manager. This position will be considered a flex role, and placed within Kansas Athletics facilities (David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, Allen Fieldhouse and Rock Chalk Park). Under the director of the Assistant AD for Facilities, the Maintenance Floater will be assigned to various tasks and projects, as needed, to provide maintenance coverage for vacations and/or leave of absences, and high demand coverage needs as required for in-season sporting events, assistance with special projects or events, and when additional assistance is needed. Work requirements may be outside of normal weekday working hours.
Schedules are posted in advance so that each floater will know their work requirements at least two weeks in advance.
Standard Facilities Shifts:
Work requirements may be outside of normal weekday working hours, with _ flexible/alternating scheduling as required _. For example, Football game on Saturday we will schedule clean up crew and floaters to assist with stadium clean up on Sundays, or late night clean up crew is scheduled post-basketball game.

Salary Details: Starting rate from $15.89 per hour ($33,000 yearly estimate plus paid overtime); Salaried Non-Exempt; Paid Monthly (12 pay periods).

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the position will operate in both a professional office environment, and in outside weather conditions related to Kansas Athletics events, including inclement weather. The position is occasional exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. This role routinely uses multiple types of machinery and equipment, including forklifts, aerial lifts, floor scrubbers, hand tools, motor vehicles, motor gators, and golf carts. This job requires flexibility and adaptability with the alternating work schedule, and the ability to perform job related duties on short notice.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This position may require frequent bending, moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular and over an extended period of time; standing up to eight hours each day; and working in all weather conditions.
** Travel**
Moderate local travel is expected for this position to service our various athletic facilities and off-site training as needed.
** Hours of Work**
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work will vary based on the needs of the position. Early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday work is sometimes required. Work requirements may be outside of normal weekday work hours, and alternate as needed.
