Major Gifts Officer

The Tiger Athletic Foundation is currently seeking applicants for a Major Gifts Officer. The Major Gifts Officer cultivates and solicits individual donor prospects that are capable of making a major gift in support of LSU Athletics. This position will manage a balanced portfolio through qualifying visits, cultivation of prospects, & prospect solicitation. This position will oversee a territory-based portfolio of individuals, corporations, and foundations to secure capital, endowment, and planned gifts on behalf of LSU Athletics.

This position is an exempt position that will offer full time benefits such as paid health insurance and 401 K offered in conjunction with this position.

This position must be in contact with TAF, Athletic Department, and University employees, guests, visitors, donors, and stakeholders, and its occupant must demonstrate a commitment to respectful cooperation with all stakeholders in the Campus environment. Specific responsibilities include:

• Perform donor and prospect research
• Manage a major gift portfolio with a keen focus on pipeline development and moves management. Possible work on a campaign or capital projects and the demonstrated ability to close major gift asks.
• Assist prospects and current donors with TAF specific questions
• Coordination with University personnel, Athletic Department personnel, other TAF personnel, guests, donors, and invitees of sports and other major events held in the Tiger Den Suites.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, plus 4-6 years of work experience in relevant industries or fields.
• Oral and written communication skills necessary to organize, plan, and implement major sporting events and specialty events.
• Utilization of excellent interpersonal skills to provide quality customer service and to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders and clients, including donors, guests, and persons associated with the University community and the Athletic Department.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
• Position travels extensively for the purpose of visiting & soliciting prospects and donors throughout the southeast.  
• Knowledge of compliance with NCAA and SEC rules and regulations is required.  
• Customer service orientated consistent with TAF mission, values, and core principles.
