The Men's Basketball Director of Scouting is responsible for managing all aspects of film and video operations within the program. This includes filming and editing practice and game footage, creating highlight and promotional content, and coordinating opponent scouting materials. The role supports the coaching staff with detailed video breakdowns and analytics to enhance player development, recruiting, and game strategy. The position also assists with on-campus recruiting activities and the creation of multimedia presentations and graphics. Additionally, this role oversees student and graduate assistant staff and performs other duties as assigned.
50% Oversees all responsibilities for film and video for the men’s basketball program, to include videotaping all practice and game footage, editing, duplicating, and creating highlight and promotional materials; Coordinates the production of opponent and self-scout cutups; Coordinates the film exchange program; Prepares video edits and breakdowns for coaches at the end of practice and games.
10% Assist with planning and organizing on-campus recruiting activities. Creates recruiting presentations for coaches before each recruiting visit.
10% Assists with managing analytics database; uses analytical data to enhance player development, recruiting, and in-game strategy; manages all programs feeding into the database; provides development plans for players.
10% Creates/Edits Highlight videos for team and individual players as requested by staff; Assists with design of social media and recruiting graphics.
5% Oversees Graduate Assistants and Student staff.
5% Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities, as well as participation in the creation of a respectful culture consistent with the values of LSU and its Athletics Department; Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with three years experience in a collegiate athletic environment. LSU values skills, experience, and expertise. Candidates who have relevant experience in key job responsibilities are encouraged to apply— a degree is not required as long as the candidate meets the required years of experience specified.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience videotaping, editing and duplicating athletic events. Experience with SportsCode video software.
Special or Physical Qualifications:
Ability to work extended days, nights and weekends. Travel is required.
