The NIL (Name, Image & Likeness) Brand Engagement Coordinator is responsible for identifying, securing, and executing on student-athlete NIL opportunities including, but not limited to: student-athlete appearances, traditional brand endorsements, and in-kind deals. This position will be responsible for building relationships with external brands to maximize the NIL efforts for the University of South Carolina and its student-athletes, coaches, staff, and recruits. This role will also serve as a point of contact for external companies seeking to engage with Gamecock athletes, ensuring a high level of service and sustained engagement.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Ability to prospect, build, and maintain strong relationships with external brands, businesses, and community partners to generate NIL opportunities. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively promote student-athletes and negotiate deals with brand partners.

Develop NIL opportunities for student-athletes by prospecting, researching, and securing brand partnerships at the local, regional, and national levels. Manage the full sales cycle including cold-calling, setting appointments, presenting proposals, negotiating deals, and closing contracts working in conjunction with player representation as needed. Serve as a point of contact for companies seeking to engage with Gamecock student-athletes, ensuring high-quality service and sustained brand engagement.

Collaborate with the Office of Compliance Services to ensure all student-athlete NIL activities are properly monitored, disclosed, and reported in accordance with NCAA, SEC, university, federal, and state regulations. Develop and implement internal processes for timely NIL disclosure, assist in auditing and reviewing NIL agreements, educate student-athletes and staff on compliance requirements, and stay updated on evolving legislation to proactively adjust policies and reporting systems.
