Under general supervision of the Senior Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor uses discretion and independent judgment to hire, coordinate, supervise personnel and subcontractors, and other daily activities directly related to the operations for the Baxter Arena, the Holland Ice, and Maverick Park. These duties require the successful execution of all events of the entire facilities. The Operations Supervisor will lead conversions of the facility from one event to another. This will include preparing and maintaining the facility for hockey, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, and other outside contracted events.

- Directly supervise a team of 30+ part-time employees across various operational functions. Responsibilities include determining staffing needs, conducting interviews, hiring and training staff, assigning and overseeing work, conducting performance evaluations, implementing disciplinary actions, addressing employee concerns, and resolving workplace issues.
- Implement, train, and enforce standard operating procedures, preventative maintenance schedules, emergency protocols, and safety/risk management policies in alignment with university and facility guidelines.
- Lead training and assist employees with all aspects of ice installation, maintenance, and removal. Tasks include freezing the floor; painting base layers, lines, and logos; building and maintaining the ice sheet; and preparing playing surfaces for games, practices, and special events. Ensure team proficiency in tasks such as debris removal, ice depth checks, scraping, edging, resurfacing, and operating resurfacing equipment (ice re-surfacer and ice-edger).
- Train and supervise employees in painting and maintaining facility equipment, ensuring quality and longevity.
- Oversee part-time staff responsible for event setups, venue changeovers, and maintaining ADA compliance to ensure accessibility across all facility spaces.
- Manage and supervise operations for multiple sports, including hockey, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, and other contracted events.
- Inspect conversion work, construction progress, and equipment installations to confirm compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to assess special project requirements, determine appropriate staffing levels, and ensure timely execution.
- Serve as a liaison between facility tenants and contractors, maintaining positive working relationships and addressing issues as they arise.
