The Assistant Football Coach (Cornerbacks) is responsible for assisting the Head Football Coach in all aspects of the intercollegiate football program, with a primary focus on coaching and developing the team's cornerbacks. Coaching & Instruction:
Developing and implementing specific game plans and strategies for cornerbacks.
Planning, organizing, and conducting practice sessions and drills to enhance individual player skills and team performance at the cornerback position.
Analyzing game footage and providing detailed feedback to improve player performance.
Instructing student-athletes on the techniques and strategies of playing cornerback within the team's defensive scheme.
Coordinating with the strength and conditioning staff to develop position-specific training programs for cornerbacks.
Recruitment:
Assisting in identifying, evaluating, and recruiting prospective student-athletes, specifically cornerbacks, in compliance with NCAA and university guidelines.
Building and maintaining relationships with high school coaches, players, and families.
Assisting with recruitment reports and maintaining up-to-date information on prospective student-athletes.
Player Development & Mentorship:
Monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes and working with academic support staff to ensure academic success.
Mentoring and providing guidance to student-athletes on academic, athletic, and personal matters.
Fostering a positive team culture that emphasizes excellence, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
Working with other departments on campus, including academic advising, residence life, and admissions, to support student-athletes.
Administrative & Compliance:
Assisting the Head Coach with various administrative duties, such as budgeting, equipment management, and team travel logistics.
Ensuring strict adherence to all NCAA, conference, and university rules, regulations, guidelines, and standards.
Representing the team in media interactions and community events.
Bachelor's Degree Required.
At least 2 years of athletics work experience.
Master's degree.

Knowledge of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) rules and regulations.
Knowledge of NCAA sport specific rules and regulations.
