Position Details
The University of Tampa Athletic Department has a position available for a Part-time Athletic Communications Gameday Operations Assistant (hourly position, no benefits) to assist with duties associated with a NCAA Division II 20-team athletic program. This position will assist and report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications.
Responsibilities
Serve as athletic communications gameday assistant.
2. Help with gameday setup including staffing of PA announcers, scorekeepers, statisticians, social media, photographers, broadcasters.
3. Serve as in-game troubleshooter for issues that may arise.
4. Ensure staffing for sports including volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, men’s and women’s lacrosse, and other sports as assigned.
5. Assist in other athletic communications efforts including graphic design, social media, sport coverage.
Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.

Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree.
2. Two years' experience in College/University Athletic Communications Department, marketing, advertising or journalism.
3. Proven background in game management at NCAA-sponsored sporting events.
4. Proficiency in desktop software environment including Adobe Creative Suite products.
5. Familiarity with statistical, scoreboard and broadcasting programs.
6. Event management experience.
7. Ability to work long hours, nights and weekends.
8. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills as well as the ability to establish priorities and manage time wisely.
Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office.
Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.

Pay Rate
$15.00 per hour
Work Schedule
Part-time work schedule not to exceed 29 hours per week/1000 hours per year.
Nights, weekends and holidays required as needed.
