Position Summary Information
| Position Purpose |
Commonwealth University at Lock Haven seeks a part-time, non-benefits eligible, Cheerleading Advisor. This position reports to the Director of Athletics. The successful candidate is responsible for all aspects of leading a successful cheerleading program. This includes providing a safe, positive and inclusive environment for the cheer team as well as spirit squad, while organizing and supervising tryouts, practice, football and basketball games, and wrestling matches.

| Description of Duties |
The Cheerleading Advisor is also responsible for accompanying the teams/squads to away contests (when travel is approved) and representing and participating in other campus activities or functions. Such activities include parades, pep rallies, Midday Matness, Fieldhouse Frenzy, community service projects and initiatives, etc. The Cheer Advisor is responsible for staying within budget and for following SAS and University budget management procedures, working with the equipment manager to ensure proper inventorying of all uniforms and equipment, and being familiar with all rules and regulations governing Cheerleading set forth by the NCAA, Lock Haven and our affiliated conferences. Successful completion of USA Cheer Safety Certification is required. Completion of other duties will be completed as assigned by Director of Athletics.
Candidates must have the energy, enthusiasm and mobility to actively teach, model and advise the cheer team and spirit squad.
Work during nights, weekends, and semester breaks (August and December-January) may be required.

| Background Clearances |
Offers of employment are conditional, pending successful completion of the background clearances mandated by Act 153 of 2014 and Board of Governors Policy 2014-01-A: Protection of Minors. In order to qualify for a provisional appointment, the Applicant Acknowledgement Consent Form, Provisional Hire Form, Pennsylvania State Police and Justifacts portion of the clearance process must be successfully completed prior to your start date. The remaining PA Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Clearance must be successfully completed and returned as soon as possible within the first 90 days of employment.
