Job Description

Description: King University, a private Christian liberal arts university located in Bristol, Tennessee, seeks a dedicated and motivated Part-Time Strength and Conditioning Coach to support the development and performance of student-athletes across all varsity athletic programs. This position is designed for an energetic individual passionate about athletic performance, injury prevention, and holistic student-athlete development within a Christ-centered educational environment.

Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field. • Current certification from the NSCA (CSCS) or CSCCa (SCCC). • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification. • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of student-athletes and staff. • Commitment to the mission of King University and the values of NCAA Division II athletics.

Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Strength & Conditioning, or related field. • Previous collegiate strength and conditioning coaching experience. • Familiarity with NCAA Division II rules and regulations.

Responsibilities: • Design and implement specific strength and conditioning programs for athletic teams in collaboration with sport coaches. • Collaborate with Weight Room Supervisor to ensure the weight room is being staffed by student workers and always organized properly. • Provide direct instruction and supervision of weight training, speed, agility, conditioning, and recovery sessions. • Teach and demonstrate safe and effective exercise techniques to ensure proper form and minimize injury risk. • Track and evaluate student-athlete progress, adjusting programs as necessary to maximize performance outcomes. • Assist with facility upkeep, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols. • Collaborate with the Athletic Training staff to coordinate injury prevention and return-to-play protocols. • Foster a culture of discipline, accountability, and sportsmanship aligned with King University’s Christian mission and values.
