The Opportunity:
As the Performance Nutrition Hub Lead , you will report to the Associate Director of Athletics for Performance Nutrition and Student-Athlete Dining and provide support for the nutritional wellbeing of Washington State University student athletes.
Your primary duties will include leading Performance Nutrition student workers, volunteers, and interns that are working within the Performance Nutrition Hub operations each day .
Your work will include regularly working shifts within Performance Nutrition Hub operations and covering open shifts when needed, managing operational checklists for Hub operations to ensure food safety and general cleanliness of operations is meeting standards of excellence, preparing in-house made food items, recipe development, nutrition product ordering and inventory management, teams’ home and away competition nutrition orders management, tracking operational expenditures and participating in weekly, monthly, and annual budget reviews, as well as assisting with planning and executing special events throughout the year.
This is a full time (100 % FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $3,239 to $4,299 | Step A - M | Range 37 | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. Step M is typically a longevity step. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
Possession of, or eligible for, a food handler’s permit AND one year of experience in quantity or institutional food preparation AND serving, which includes six months experience directing the work of others; OR equivalent education/experience.
Additional Requirements:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Washington Food Handler’s Permit within 14 days of employment.
SERVSAFE certified within 6 months of hire.
Proficient in Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook calendar, along with social media platforms such as Instagram.
Abilities to work night and weekends based on business needs.
Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree within nutritional sciences, culinary arts, food science, kinesiology, or similar fields of study. Multi-faceted food experience.
Has worked in a collegiate and/or professional athletics fueling operation at least 6 months in a part-time and/or full-time capacity. Non-paid positions such as internships can be counted towards this preferred qualification.
Experience leading and training employees.
General knowledge of commercial grade kitchen equipment use, safety, and maintenance.
