The PGA Golf Management Program (PGM) in the College of Business and Economics turns students’ passion for the game into exciting careers as golf professionals. Students graduate from the program with a business degree along with the skills and experience necessary to be successful in the golf industry. PGA Golf Management one of only 16 PGA of America accredited programs, with 100 percent job placement rates in the golf industry for our graduates.
The PGA Golf Management Assistant is integral to the successful operation and continuous improvement of the University of Idaho’s PGA Golf Management program. This position involves managing key program functions including student recruitment, comprehensive player development, and the design and delivery of experiential learning activities that align with PGA accreditation requirements. The role provides critical administrative leadership by overseeing program records, facilitating events, and ensuring adherence to both university policies and PGA standards. Additionally, the position supports students’ academic progression and career placement efforts, contributing to their professional readiness and success. A significant component of the role includes providing hands-on support and professional expertise at the Vandal Golf Course.

Position Qualifications
| Required Experience |
- Demonstrated six (6) months’ experience in the golf industry in a professional or pre-professional capacity, such as through internships or employment at a golf facility.
- Two (2) years’ experience in the golf industry.

- Completion of at least Level 2 of the PGA’s Professional Golf Management Program, with active pursuit of PGA Class A Membership.

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

| Physical Requirements & Working Conditions |
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, especially during peak golf season.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
