Major Duties

Under general supervision of the Head Coach, the Player Development Coach (WBB) reports directly to the Head Coach and will assist in developing a Division I competitive program. The incumbent will evaluate and recruit qualified student-athletes, whose athletic skills allow the program to be highly competitive and whose academic abilities make them excellent candidates for a meaningful academic experience and graduate from CSUN.

  • Serves as the liaison with high school coaches during campus visits, practices, etc., spearhead all game film footage and analytics assignments, and act as a mentor to student-athletes, coordinating and implements programs and initiatives (at the direction of the Head Coach) focused on developing student-athletes to succeed in all aspects of their college experience (i.e., health lifestyle, mentorship opportunities, networking opportunities, career planning, community outreach, etc.).
  • Supports the Head Coach by providing leadership and integrity to the program set forth by the Head Coach which includes, but is not limited to: creating, planning, organizing, motivating, communicating and controlling aspects relative to recruiting, practices, competitions, student-athletes, assistant coaches, and related booster clubs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
