Olympic Performance Nutrition Intern

JOB PURPOSE:

Assist the Director of Performance Dietetics – Olympic Sports with tasks related to providing nutrition education and performance nutrition to student athletes at the University of Wyoming. Sports include: men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, wrestling, swim and dive, and more.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, assisting with management of the High Altitude Fueling Station (inventory management, food ordering and receiving, scheduling, stocking, cleaning, etc.), creating nutrition education materials for athletes, creating and delivering basic nutrition talks and cooking classes to Olympic Sport teams, providing performance and recovery nutrition on practice and competition days, interacting with athletes and answering their basic performance nutrition questions, and helping with social media account education posts.

Pay rate is $12/hr. Looking for motivated individuals interested in athletics/sports nutrition and willing to work 15-20 hours per week for the academic year (August-May). Potential work over winter and summer breaks if desired. Students majoring in dietetics/nutrition and other health-related fields are encouraged to apply. REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Current University of Wyoming student/working toward degree at University of Wyoming
• Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with UW policy.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Studying dietetics, nutrition, or health-related field.
• Ability to follow directions, carry out directions, and ask for help if needed.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals.
• Ability to work well with others in a team setting.
